Up until now, we have seen a huge
surge of Brits buying in Italy. We discuss why Calabria has become the
new jewel in the crown.
(1888PressRelease) November 20, 2007 - From holiday homes in Spain,
to luxurious penthouse apartments in Dubai - there isn’t a place in the
world that has escaped the British invasion. .
Now, one of the top destinations to buy is the up and coming region of Calabria, in southern Italy.
Where once upon a time, Italy was associated with the rich and the
beautiful as a place to buy, it had priced the average punter like us
out of the market.
Tuscany has some of the highest prices in Southern Europe. And as for the Amalfi coast . . .forget it!
But, in Southern Italy all that is about to change. Or should we
say, is already changing. Calabria, is the region that we associate
with the boot of Italy. It has temperatures and coastline to match
Spain, and property prices start from just £40,000 for a one bedroom
apartment - frontline beach!!
"We've seen a dramatic increase in clients purchasing homes in
Italy", said one property expert. "It seems more and more people are
looking for better value when they buy abroad", he continued.
Now, Ryanair have opened their doors and from London Stansted, you
can fly right into Lamezia at the heart of the region. Within the next
few months, flights from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester will also
fly direct.
The properties are all fantastic new developments, and as Italy is
a member of the E.U, it’s always a safer bet than the likes of Bulgaria
and Cyprus for overall investment.
Indeed as for investment, Calabria is the hottest place to buy.
Prices are low, airlines are flying direct and the weather is all round
sunny like Spain.
Finally, Calabria has some of the best scenery in Italy, and whilst
you lay on the beach, you gaze up at the snow capped mountains in the
far distance.
