Many American holidaymakers are choosing to enjoy their vacations in Europe, according to new research.
A study by Donald N. Martin & Co found that the overall number
of US consumers choosing to cross the Atlantic has gone up in the last
year, reports TravelMole.
Spain was identified as a particularly popular country among this group, with tourist numbers increasing by nearly a third.
Meanwhile, the number of American holidaymakers visiting Italy rose by a similar proportion.
This shows that established tourist markets in Europe have retained
their popularity, despite the emergence of other destinations in recent
years.
According to Holiday-Rentals, this has helped to makes countries
such as Spain and Italy investment hotspots among property buyers from
the UK.
The firm stated that about nine in ten overseas residences owned by Britons were located within the European Union.
